Red Velvet Bundt Cake with Cream Cheese Icing Recipe

A simple baked version of an iconic cake, with an irresistible Cream Cheese Icing. This easy, foolproof recipe is perfect for a birthday, dinner parties or a weekend treat.

For the cake:
1½ cup granulated sugar
2½ cups all-purpose/plain flour
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 cup buttermilk at room temperature
½ cup butter melted
½ cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vinegar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 tablespoon red food coloring paste

For the Frosting:
1 cups powdered sugar
½ cup butter softened
½ cup cream cheese softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2-4 tablespoons hot water


For the cake:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 f/180 c and generously grease bundt pan.
  2. Sift together the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into a large bowl. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together buttermilk, eggs, butter, oil, vinegar vanilla, and red food coloring until well blended.
  4. Add the flour mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Add the batter to the prepared pan. Bake for approximately 50-55 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean. READ MORE
